Air Space - The area between insulation facing and interior of exterior wall coverings. For best results, manufacturers recommend filling this space with insulation and allowing at least 3/4" air space in installing reflective faced insulation.
Allowance(s) - A sum of money set aside in the construction contract for items which have not been selected and specified in the construction contract. For example, selection of tile as a flooring may require an allowance for an underlayment material, or an electrical allowance which sets aside an amount of money to be spent on electrical fixtures.
Bottom chord - The lower or bottom member of a truss.
Butt hinge - The most common type. One leaf attaches to the door's edge, the other to its jamb.
Credit rating - A report ordered by a lender from a credit agency to determine a borrower's credit habits.
Gas lateral - The trench or area in the yard where the gas line service is located, or the work of installing the gas service to a home.
Ground iron - The plumbing drain and waste lines that are installed beneath the basement floor. Cast iron was once used, but black plastic pipe (ABS) is now widely used.
Gypsum board - Drywall.
Punch out - To inspect and make a discrepancy list.
Sump pump - A submersible pump in a sump pit that pumps any excess ground water to the outside of the home.
Thermostat - A device which relegates the temperature of a room or building by switching heating or cooling equipment on or off.
Top plate - Top horizontal member of a frame wall supporting ceiling joists, rafters, or other members.

This is my first drill press and for a sub $200 drill press it appears to be the best in breed in terms of features and quality. Assembling the drill was straight forward and the instructions were clear. The laser alignment was a little tricky and I ended up adjusting it by hand rather than using the method described in the manual. Once set, it was good. While I was assembling the drill press the movement of the quill was sticky and would not fully reset until after I turned the machine on. I then proceeded to drill ...more

The lasers make it easy to quickly and accurately drill right where you want to, and it's solid enough that everything stays in alignment while you drill multiple workpieces. Bottom line: this is the best $200 benchtop drill press you will find. (One minor caveat: as others have pointed out, the box is not strong enough for shipping. Set screw for collar ring was missing but they sent me one within a week. This is a heavy unit so it must be very well mounted ( I used two 4 x 4 3/4 inch MDF mounted to the pallet the unit was delivered on ). Also used with sanding drum with no issues at all. Worm gear for the table is a little sloppy ( side to side movement ) but this has not been an operational issue. Threaded post and hub style depth stop included on unit. This is a great deal ...more

A quick call to customer service and that had the part out to me in 3 days. For the price you can't beat this drill press. A solid smooth running machine with plenty of power to get the job done. It goes well with my free-standing 16-1/2" drill press; it may be too big for most bench top drill presses. Below is information that will let you judge if this vise will work for you. It is 9-3/4" long x 8-7/8" wide. The bottom of the jaws sits 1-5/8" above the drill press table. The jaws themselves are 1-1/2" high x 5-7/8" wide. You probably will want a wood block on the jaws.
