Assumption - Allows a buyer to assume responsibility for an existing loan instead of getting a new loan.

Grade - Ground level, or the elevation at any given point.

Plumbing boots - Metal saddles used to strengthen a bearing wall/vertical stud(s) where a plumbing drain line has been cut through and installed.

Plumbing stack - A plumbing vent pipe that penetrates the roof.

Scupper - (1) An opening for drainage in a wall, curb or parapet. (2) The drain in a downspout or flat roof, usually connected to the downspout.

Shim - A small piece of scrap lumber or shingle, usually wedge shaped, which when forced behind a furring strip or framing member forces it into position. I use my Makita for every thing from screws, to bolts and nuts. The cars I work on are famous for phillips head screws every where on the car. I don't twist a regular screwdriver by hand. The higher voltage ones maybe more powerful, but this one fits every where in, around, under or over the car. My drill has outlasted all of the other ones I've had put together.
